Cook One Thing, Thoughts From a Humble Cook - A Book
Who are you?
Alex Keerie
What is your project?
A collection of recipes and ramblings by Alex Keerie on his Brainstorm Road Project. A daily practice, writing about his exploration of food and kitchen adventures.
It must have started so many, many years ago, the seed planted in my gran’s kitchen. An ethos around eating at the table with the idea of sharing the day, enjoying the food and the company. Perhaps it was the magic in the letter that my gran sent me, a time before email, the recipe for Tattiehash as I reached out for home cooking while at university that only my gran could make.
I turned fifty at the start of the year, and my project is about wrestling my hard drives into submission, collating my favourite recipes, and pulling something together that might resemble a guide, a book as I grow my digital garden, learning in company and defeating my impostor syndrome in the process.
Can we see some photos?
It’s all very much work in progress, there will be lots of food related pictures, yes I’m one of those guys who takes pictures of their food before they eat it! I’ve attached a few below, and the essence of that magical letter from 1994!

What will you ship at the end of 6 months?
Now that is the killer question! I’ve been on the road for a while and this isn’t my day job! Saying that, I need to up the pace and get that draft pulled together. It’s time!
