Quilting with Rescued Materials

Who are you?

Sue Fox

What is your project?

••• When I learned to sew at age ten, I began stitching projects with Rescued Materials.

Reason #1— AVAILABILITY. The nearest fabric store was 98 miles away… If I wanted to sew, re-use of “made goods” was my only choice.

Reason #2— COST. Rescued Materials meant FREE Materials.

Reason #3— UNIQUENESS. Older & Vintage materials are more interesting— One-of-a-kind… Irreplaceable.

Reason #4— RESPONSIBILITY. Recognizing irreversible ravages to our Home Planet resulting from Corporate Manufacturing practices, Rescuing Materials already in circulation is the ethical thing to do.

••• I’ve stitched nearly 750 quilts using Rescued Materials. My aim is to share the quilts, my processes & techniques, & to encourage others.
