Horror Feature Movie Script

Who are you?

Rick Kitagawa

What is your project?

I’ve been working on my second horror feature script Bloodlines while editing my first script The Molting and preparing to send it to a new round of competitions and film festivals.

The Molting is a story of finding belonging for oneself told through the lens of Erika Lee, a 40-something single Asian American woman grappling with her self-image while navigating Los Angeles who gets whisked away to a fancy transformative retreat that is not all that it seems. For Erika to survive the demon-worshipping cult that runs the retreat, she must embrace who she is despite other’s projections of her.

Bloodlines follows a Japanese American tech entrepreneur who is trying to reconnect to his heritage despite growing up Americanized and without parents. His search takes him and a documentary filmmaking team to Japan where he locates some ancestors who are even more interested in his bloodline than he is and want to use him for nefarious purposes.

What feedback would you like?

Words of encouragement or introductions to anyone you know in the film industry that like horror! Or, if you’re a screenwriter who want to trade feedback on scripts, I’d love to meet you and hear about your script(s)!
