What is your project?
To execute a marketing plan for the book I’m releasing on September 1st called, Yes You Can: How to make a movie for almost no money.
I’ve added copy about the book to my website and have created a landing page (though I don’t yet know where to use it!).
To build community and spread awareness of the book, I’m making short videos about issues aspiring filmmakers struggle with and posting them on LI, IG, and TikTok.

What will you ship at the end of 6 months?
Between now and September, when the book comes out, I’ll be doing a lot of other things to market it. For example, I’ll:
• Send a free advance copy to film department professors in the US and abroad and ask local LA film schools and NY film schools if I may come speak to their students
• Ask LA bookstores to carry the book and see if I can set up readings/signings
• Contact radio talk shows and podcasts to pitch myself as a guest
• Plan a book launch party at a unique venue in LA and invite LA press
• Send an email to friends individually, asking them to review the book on Amazon once it’s available to buy and offer an incentive to help insure follow-through
• Consider whether to bundle the book with a fun ‘extra’ that encourages people to buy a higher-quality printed version of the book from my website rather than a cheaper-quality print-on-demand version on Amazon
