Japanese Calligraphy Paired with Essays

Who are you?

What is your project?

The Leaves We Speak
Twelve monthly mini-essays paired with a piece of Japanese calligraphy. As a foreigner, I’m writing about ideas and thoughts I’ve encountered during my adventures in Japan. Shipped in a newsletter format.

About the title: In Japanese, “koto-ba” is made up of two characters: speak and leaves. It means “words.” It is as if the words we speak are made up of leaves. The moment we write and speak something, they are put out there. Like leaves falling from their trees. These writings are a celebration of the beauty in words.

Can we see some photos?
