What is your project?
I’m building a website called Antarctica Trip Finder. The project required compiling nearly 1000 small-ship voyages on 49 ships operated by 23 different companies. The trips are searchable by date, region, ship capacity, price, and many other variables and each includes a custom map that I created. Built on the Shopify platform, the search experience will be familiar and allow for an easy login where people can save a wish list and share trips with friends. The site is meant for people who are in the information-gathering stage of travel planning.

Show us your work-in-progress:
1. SEARCH TREE: This video is from the initial Shopify test site that I built and provides an idea of what the search function will look like. The project was codenamed The Antarctica Desk but will be launched as Antarctica Trip Finder. Not a sexy, unique name, but one that the search engines will understand!
2. ROUTE MAPS: Here are 121 different voyage maps in 15 seconds. Many voyages follow the same route, but after entering all of the routes, they distilled down to 121 unique versions.
3. INFO TILES: For the primary Shopify product graphic, information from the data file is overlaid on the corresponding map so you can quickly see the basic information for each voyage. As of Friday, July 7th, I have 873 completed info tiles ready to add. Above is an example.
What will you ship at the end of 6 months?
By August 1st, the beta version of the Antarctica Trip Finder will be fully-functional at www.antarcticatripfinder.com.
